Free Rides to Veterans in San Diego County

Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation (FACT), a San Diego County nonprofit, announces a free transportation promotion specifically for San Diego Veterans.
From September 1 through December 31, 2017, Veterans will be able to schedule free transportation on RideFACT, a transportation service operated by FACT, anywhere within urban and suburban San Diego County.  In addition to meeting the current needs of Veterans for rides, FACT hopes to get a better understanding of the mobility needs and potential demand for transportation in our San Diego Veterans’ community.

RideFACT reaches milestone – 100,000th ride

OCEANSIDE – For Chula Vista residents Jack and Rose, it was an uneventful trip to the grocery store, but for Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation, a San Diego County nonprofit, it was cause for celebration.
Jack, 94, and Rose, 76, discovered RideFACT, a FACT ride service, when their daughter was looking for local transportation options for her elderly parents. Now, the couple uses the service at least once a week to get to medical appointments, grocery shopping and church.
On June 9, Jack and Rose unwittingly helped RideFACT reach an important milestone: the 100,000th ride!

Filling Mobility Gaps With Curb-to-Curb Service
There’s no place like home. But for many seniors and disabled people, going out and returning home isn’t always easy.
Enter Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation – or FACT – a regional brokerage of transportation services based in San Diego County that provides affordable rides to medical offices, grocery stores, or anywhere else seniors and persons with disabilities need to go. Central to FACT’s mission is helping its customers to remain in their homes, as opposed to living in institutions or relocating closer to amenities and medical facilities.

Federal grant to support Tri-City patient transportation

OCEANSIDE – Patients at Tri-City Medical Center can gain access to low-cost rides thanks to a federal grant awarded to a nonprofit transportation agency. The Federal Transportation Administration in August 2016 awarded $200,000 to Facilitating Access to Coordinated Transportation – or FACT — a regional brokerage of transportation services for seniors and disabled people.
